28. 01. 2013 - News from Ingo |
The year 2012 was for me a very beautiful and successful year. It was also the final farewell to Europe runs. In March, my new book "TranseuropaLauf 2012" will be ready. Ingo have another plans? So completely I cannot help it. From 24 on to 29. August 2014, it will therefore reflect a "running Spree" (Spree is a river. The competition goes from BERLIN to EIBAU). What a plan more for 2013? Running? No! I but I have a dream: I want to go for EIGHT weeks as a passenger on a container ship! |

29. 07. 2012 - 2.500.000 Visitors at the webside TE-FR |
Today, 12:09 clock precisely, we have reached the 2.5 million million mark. Just imagine: Since 11.03.2001 we have 2.5 million visitors to the website www.transeurope-footrace.org! This represents a monthly average of 19,500 visitors! Of course, in normal months, it is precisely 3-5000 visitors a month. During the race in 2003 and 2009, we came up with over 10,000 visitors DAILY! We will look after the TE-FR 2012? Is it possible to place bets? I'm going for more than 4 million! |

"Very sad to have to announce that Alain Lemarchand (*€) has passed away on July 5th. Alain was a Finisher of Transe Gaule 2005 during which he ran the full distance from start line to finish line together with Christophe Midelet*, his running twin brother. Also a Trans Europe 2009 Finisher, Alain ran 63 of the 64 stages from Bari to North Cape together with Roger Warenghem*€, having long friendly days side by side. Obviously for this kind of man, friendship was always the main thing to take care of, even when running or competing. |

Ullrich Zach and his wife took the opportunity and Thomas Wimmer announced his coming for the next day. 05. 04. 2011 - Change of name of the »TE-FR« and deletion of logo |
Because of a forthcoming lawsuit with my former partner of the »TE-FR 2009« the name from the race will be changed from »TransEurope-FootRace« into just »Transeurope«. In addition to this the logo will be deleted, too. It has to be established legally whether there is a chance to confound the logo from the »TE-FR 09« with the one from »TE 12«. Actually there might be a chance that they resemble each other a tiny bit, but I doubt that with this I have rendered myself liable ro prosecution. Although my former partner has been - in connection with the »TE-FR 2009« - sentenced to an imprisonment of 1 year with a 3 year probation, it seems that now he wants to get back at me. A pity, cause until now the »TE-FR 2012« has been a great success. Unfortunately my former partner has already been causing me lots of damage and it appears that he doesn't want to stop doing it ... So - in 2012 it will be Ingo on his own - no partner - , together with his well-tried crew ... |

Kenji Hara, who participated in the TE-FR 03 and already enrolled in the TE-FR 2012 has passed away on February 17th at the age of 65. He suffered a heart attack. To the participants of the TE-FR he was known as an even-tempered and pleasant runner. With his knowledge in English he very often helped the organizers in communicating with the Japanese participants. I have received the news with dismay and would like to express my condolences and my deep sympathy to his family. |

In the national language it’s called NORDKAPP. We were very successful and we look now on the bright side of the TE-FR. One was very obliging, which facilitated our work. How does it look like? It is not really warm. We had cloudy skies and about 5 to 7 degrees Celsius. Today, 22. June seems almost summer like with already10 degrees. The vegetation seemed as in high mountains or as January in Germany. In a Mail to participants and supporter I described the last two stages. I gladly pass these information on also to interested one. Joachim Barthelmann has completed the exploration of the route. He has calculated a distance of exactly 4487,4 kilometers or 2788,4 miles. We also took a lot of pictures of the North. Sebastian will upload them to the homepage of the TE-FR soon. Participants and supporters should bear in mind warm clothes beside mosquito repellent / protection/ prevention. |
