Achim ist 1985 vom Motorradsport zum Laufen gekommen. Seine Entwicklung zum erfolgreichen Ultralangstreckenlauf war rasant und Achim kann auf eine lange Liste seiner Erfolge zurückblicken. Hier ein Einblick in seine Laufkarriere: 2-facher Deutscher Meister im 24 Stundenlauf, 3-facher Deutscher Vizemeister im 100 km Bahnlauf und weitere 6 aufgestellte Deutsche Rekorde. Zweitschnellster Mensch über 1000 Meilen im Jahr 2002 - Ergebnis: 11 Tage, 18 Std., 30 Min. Europadurchquerung 2000 im Alleingang. Nordkap - Sizilien über 5735 km in 55 Tagen, 6 Std. und 45 Min. Deutschlanddurchquerung 2001 über 1155 km in 6 Tagen, 21 Std. und 15 Min. Australiendurchquerung 2005 von Perth nach Sydney über 4768 km in 43 Tagen, 13 Std. und 8 Min. Weltmeisterschaft im 10-fachen Ironman 2006 über 38 km Schwimmen, 1800 km Rad und 422 km Laufen. Sein Motto: "Never give up!" Was er sonst noch gern mag: FAULLENZEN!!!
